apibrėžtis Fortifikaciniai įrenginiai ir statiniai kariams, kovos technikai ir kt. materialinėms vertybėms, civiliniams gyventojams nuo priešo ugnies ir NP saugoti. Apsauginiai įrenginiai ir statiniai būna nedengtieji (karių ir kovos technikos priedangos) ir dengtieji (blindažai, slėptuvės, specialiosios kovos technikos ir materialinių vertybių priedangos). Civiliniams gyventojams saugoti gali būti naudojamos CS slėptuvės (radiacinės, cheminės, apkrovinės – atsparios tam tikram pertekliniam slėgiui), įvairių pastatų rūsiai, tuneliai, šachtos ir kt.
